Congratulations to the 10 women who'll be competing in the San Diego 2011 Inventor Showcase, vying for the Best New Product/Service award:

SAN DIEGO, July 7, 2011 — Moms in Business Unite, offering a unique educational conference and ongoing resources to enhance the professional and personal lives of women and mom business owners, today announced the nine women who will participate in the Inventor Showcase at the August 3 conference. Showcase participants will be vying to win the Best New Product/Service award, which will be decided by attendee votes and announced at the afternoon reception.

MIBU will be presenting cash grants to mom business owners with innovative ideas who need capital to take their businesses to the next level—one grant each in San Diego and Boston. The deadline to be considered for this monetary prize is June 30, just weeks away.

Competition was fierce among the five women inventors who participated in the Inventor Showcase at the May 19 Atlanta MIBU Conference. They each had the chance to campaign for votes from attendees, whose tallies selected the winner: The Highchair Organizer

MIBU President Randa Cote is one of the nominees for NAWBO San Diego's Trailblazer Award, one of six that will be presented at the May 18 BRAVO! Awards. It's presented to the San Diego woman business owner who's demonstrated talent, drive and innovation; is a pioneer in successfully developing unique products, services or delivery channels; and has a business with fast-growing revenue and/or volume. Last year, Randa won a BRAVO! Award as the Women's Advocate of the Year.
